A RECRUITMENT drive has been launched to find a troop of Roman soldiers to appear in Redditch’s Easter Passion Play.
A squad of eight legionnaires are needed to help bring the Easter story alive.
More people are also needed for the crowd scenes in the play, which has been written by Redditch resident Elaine Whitfield.
Passion Plays date back from before medieval times and dramatically tell the story of the Last Supper, betrayal, crucifixation and resurrection of Jesus.
As a result, Roman soldiers are needed, and a loud and boisterous crowd.
No acting experience is necessary.
The play will be performed in St Stephen’s Church in the town centre on Wednesday, April 17, and will be ticketed but free to attend.
Redditch’s brilliant Indigo Arts have already signed up to provide the music.
