REDDITCH Borough Council is all revved up about a potential partnership with motorbike giants Royal Enfield.

Following initial contact last month additional meetings are planned the New Year to take forward ideas on how Redditch, as Royal Enfield’s birthplace, can continue to be a part of their future brand.

How Royal Enfield can help Redditch unlock the full potential that lies in its heritage will also be explored.

Council leader Matt Dormer said: “Royal Enfield is an iconic British brand with strong roots here in Redditch and we are delighted and extremely proud that we have a chance to play a part in its future.

“We hope to bring other partners and our community on this journey with us and create a true Team Redditch approach.

“It’s early days but we are very excited about the prospects of a long term relationship with Royal Enfield.”

Mark Spiller, European marketing manager at Eicher Motors, which owns the Royal Enfield brand said: “We are looking to expand Royal Enfield throughout Europe and we see the potential for Redditch to be the perfect springboard for us.

“Royal Enfield and Redditch have a shared heritage that we are very proud of.”

The next meeting is set to take place in January 2019.
