REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean has condemned the Russian attack on the Ukraine, saying :“Redditch and the UK stands with the people of Ukraine.”
Russian forces crossed the border into its neighbour this morning amidst missile attacks on key Ukrainian installations.
Mrs Maclean said: “On this darkest of days for Europe and the world, my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine following Russia’s illegal and unprovoked attack on a free, democratic and sovereign country.
“The Putin regime and the Russian economy will pay a heavy price for the war it is raging on Ukraine.
“A war of Putin’s choosing and no one else’s.
“The UK, along with our allies, will today agree a massive package of economic sanctions designed in time to cripple the Russian economy.
“Redditch and the UK stands with the people of Ukraine.”
