REDDITCH Police are investigating two assaults at the skate park in Morton Stanley Park just after 6pm on Sunday, August 18.

The first assault is believed to have occurred when a girl was approached by a group of 20 to 25 people.

Two girls in the group became aggressive towards the victim telling her they were going to fight her.

Police then believe she was punched and slapped.

A young man then intervened and told the group to leave her alone.

The group then started shouting and picking on him resulting in one of them picking up his push bike and riding off around the park before returning it.

As he walked away he too was punched, suffering bruising to his face, then was pushed and chased into the woodland.

The incident happened towards the end of the Morton Stanley Festival and police are anxious to hear from any witnesses.

PC Danny Fulford said: “We are are keen to progress our enquiries and are taking these incidents extremely seriously.

“Myself and another officer are investigating the two assaults and are asking any further witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident to please contact us as soon as possible.”

Any witnesses or anyone with film footage are urged to contact Redditch Police on 101 quoting incident 607s and 639s of August 18, 2019.
