Redditch art charity celebrates 21st anniversary

Redditch Editorial 17th Nov, 2022   0

A REDDITCH based arts charity is celebrating 21 years of providing hundreds of arts projects, events, performances and schemes across the town.

Indigo Arts, which aims to ensure high quality arts provision is available to everyone, was founded by Cathy Moss and Malcolm Carlton in 2001.

Cathy remains the Project’s director 21 years on, and Malcolm, a professional musician and composer, although retired from day to day activities with the charity, is still advising and supporting the team.

In 2015 the team launched its pop up venue project, which saw professional performances take place in empty shop units in the Kingfisher Centre.

The latest pop up venue – on Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19 – will host Indigo’s 21st birthday celebrations with performances from Young Indigo, IndigoCo, Take 2.

Cathy said: “This will be a show guaranteed to bring the ‘feelgood’ factor.

“Purchasing a ticket will not only provide a great evening’s entertainment, but also help a very worthwhile charity keep going through difficult times, and continue to provide creative opportunity for everyone, when it is needed the most.

“Join the Indigo Community for a night of family friendly celebration – you won’t be disappointed.”

The pop up venue can be found at 11 Walford Walk, next to Muffin Break.

The doors and bar will open at 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.
