THE REDDITCH Association for the Blind collected more than £1,100 during a successful fund-raiser at the town’s Morrisons store, writes Aimee Lempriere.
The cash has helped fund the fortnight luncheon club, parties and trips to the town’s Palace Theatre for the visually impaired.
The group, which is run by volunteers, used a card reader and QR code to boost funds for the first time because it was felt the ‘cashless society’ could hit the number of donations.
Redditch Association for the Blind chairman Bill Payne thanked Morrisons’ charity co-ordinator Bev Allington and the supermarket staff for all their help.
He added: “Thank you the people of Redditch who are unfailingly kind, generous, and good natured.”
