HAVE you ever wondered why Zebras have stripes? Why penguins can’t fly? Or the reason bats hang upside down?
Redditch author Adam Grant answers all of these questions and more in his new children’s book ‘Why?’.
Adam hopes his colourful and comical tales, told through poetry, will shake up the education scene.
“I chose to write in poems because I think it helps to keep children’s interest,” said the 51-year-old Winyates Green resident.
“I’ve always found those types of books to be the most entertaining.”
The dad-of-two read draft versions of Why? to his own children when they were younger and was often encouraged by friends and family to get it published.
“But it wasn’t until I lost my job to Covid in 2020, that I finally decided to speak to a publisher,” said Adam.
“I’m really proud and excited that I’ve done it now.
“I think adults will enjoy reading the book too because it’s full of facts they might not know.”
Adam, who illustrated the entire book himself, is hoping to get copies of Why? into schools in the near future.
He added: “From an education point of view, I think there’s definitely a market for Why? in schools.”
Two more of Adam’s books, one on the human body, are already in the works.
