REDDITCH author Carla Kovach was back at her old school recently to talk to the students about life as a writer.
Carla is a crime and horror author who grew up and lives in Redditch and Arrow Vale back in the 1990s.
She loved her English lessons to the extent that her teacher used to read out to the class the stories she’d written at home.
She is now a best-selling author and film scriptwriter who has just landed a three book deal with publisher Bookouture to continue her page turning crime novels of top detective DI Gina Harte.
So far The Next Girl and Her Final Hour have already hit the streets with a third novel, Her Pretty Bones, scheduled for release in January, 2019.
She’s currently 30,000 words into the fourth in the series and when she’s not deep into the cases of her heroine she’s co-running a video production company, or writing for the silver screen or stage, with a feature length horror film in production is due for release in 2019.
Teacher Sarah Noble said: “Carla gave an extremely insightful presentation into her career as a successful author and provided the students with lots of interesting information as to how she got to be where she is.
“Carla told the students she makes her writing engaging and super descriptive and gave them advice for pursuing a career in writing fiction.
“It was wonderful to see so many students immersed in the ideas around writing and developing their own creativity.”
Her Pretty Bones is due for release on January 17 and pre-orders can be made at www.amazon.co.uk/Her-Pretty-Bones-completely-nail-biting-ebook/dp/B07JK9XXNC/
