A REDDITCH bank is hosting its very own version of the Olympic Games in a bid to raise money for charity.

The Lloyds Bank Olympics take place on June 21 at the Abbey Stadium and will feature a series of old school style events including the egg and spoon, sack and three legged races.

As well as staff at the Church Green East bank taking part, businesses and residents are being invited to compete. Rachel’s Cupcakes, based in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, is providing food on the day and there will also be a bouncy castle to entertain the children.

It is hoped up to 50 teams could take part in the event raising thousands of pounds for Children In Need and Redditch Nightstop which supports young people at risk of homelessness in the borough.

Entry costs £50 for teams of five but participants must be aged 16 or older.

The deadline for entries is the Tuesday, March 31 and entry forms are available from the town centre branch of Lloyds Bank.
