Redditch Barber Ben giving free back-to-school haircuts

REDDITCH barber Ben Collins will be giving youngsters free back-to-school haircuts for families that are struggling.

And he is appealing for barbers across Worcestershire to follow suit and join his cause.

Ben announced his idea on his social media page last week and has since got two other barbers involved to help him out, with anyone up to the age of 18 eligible for a free haircut.

He will be taking appointments at ‘Insta Barber’ on Alcester Street between 9am and 5pm every day and is willing to do out-of-hours slots.

And keen to help in any way he can, he is also working closely with organisations such as the Friends of Issac’s food bank on other ideas and events.

He is also looking for other charity events and organisations that want his help and is willing to offer a pop-up barbers service at any fundraisers on a few days’ notice.

Ben has given free haircuts to around 60 clients so far with calls still coming in.

He said: “I really want to reach out to anyone that needs help during the hard times we are currently living in.”

“I would be more than happy to collaborate and help out in any way that I can, it’s all about helping those in need right now.

“If we can get other barbers from Bromsgrove, Worcester and the rest of the county to join in and form a community it will make all the difference to those who need it most.

“All I want to do is spread some positivity through local communities and make people’s lives that bit easier.”

If anyone wants to book an appointment with Ben or help him in his venture, you can contact him on 07871707072.
