TAI Chi classes launched in Oakenshaw are to be expanded to cover Winyates, writes Annie Davidson.
Ideal for improving strength and reducing stress, classes start at Winyates Craft Centre on May 2 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
The classes will cost £3.30 per 1 hour session and are available as pay as you go.
Tai Chi, a method of mind and body exercise rooted in ancient China, is a gentle form of exercise that focuses on slow controlled movements and deep breathing to improve participants’ strength whilst helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Hayley Gwilliam, Health Intervention Officer, said: “We are so pleased that these Tai Chi sessions have been so well received and are looking forward to reaching more residents in Winyates.
“These classes are a great way to start your fitness journey as well as providing a boost to body and mind. They are suitable for beginners and everyone is welcome to come along and have a go.”
