TIDY-MINDED Redditch residents can sweep their way to success with a little help from the borough council in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday.
As part of the national ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy, Redditch Borough Council is offering resources to anyone thinking about organising community litter-picks.
From now until the first weekend in March, the borough council will loan out litter pickers, provide special ‘Clean for the Queen’ refuse sacks, come and collect the litter, and offer advice and support on planning community litter picks.
Councillor Debbie Taylor, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for local environment, said: “Keeping Redditch clean and tackling littering are key priorities and so we’re right behind anyone that wants to ‘Clean for the Queen’.
“If you want to show pride in your local area we will support you, and perhaps seeing the community working together will help some people to think twice about the effect dropping litter has.”
