Redditch Borough Council grants up for grabs

Redditch Editorial 14th Jan, 2016 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

REDDITCH Borough Council is inviting voluntary and community groups across the town to bid for the latest round of grants of up to £500 – as well as some leftover cash.

‘Stronger Communities’ Grants’ support local community-focused projects and the first round of applications for 2016 opened on Monday (January 11).

Judith Willis, head of community services, said: “In Redditch we have a really strong sense of community and this is because of the work carried out by organisations and voluntary groups who dedicate their time and skills to our Borough.

“We remain committed to supporting voluntary and community projects across the borough and understand how important they are to the local area.”

Stronger Communities grants are made available in three rounds every year as one part of the council’s wider annual grants programme.

In the last round of grants the following sums were not allocated so there is a second opportunity for groups, who haven’t applied for these specific ones before, to put in their bids:

£5,000 – help Me to be financially independent theme

£2,200 – help me to live my life independently

£2,000 – Keep My Place safe and looking good

Applications must be made by February 5 at 4pm.
