THE Redditch offices of Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest have gone up in the world, moving from Easemore Road to the Ecumenical Centre in the town centre.
It means the charity should be ideally placed just off Evesham Walk and more convenient for clients.
“We are committed to the delivery of high quality information and advice to the local people of Redditch, that is both face to face and easily accessible,” said Alison Schofield, CEO of Age UK BR&WF.
“To support this objective, we have decided to move the delivery of Age UK services in Redditch to a more central location, within the Ecumenical Centre.”
The move from Community House was an emotional one for the staff and volunteers. Age UK – Age Concern as it was known before the organisation’s name change in 2011 – has had a presence there for more than 20 years and the site is held in great affection.
However, the move to the Ecumenical Centre will bring greater benefits to the clients of Redditch.
Sheelagh Keen, chairman of the Trustees said: “We are delighted to have negotiated a space within the Ecumenical Centre in Redditch as the base for information and advice; we hope this will be welcomed by Redditch in particular as a convenient and appropriate point of contact for older people.”
