Redditch bus attack could have been racially motivated say Police

REDDITCH Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on the town circular No58 bus yesterday, Wednesday, April 29.

The incident involved a passenger, a woman, verbally abusing and assaulting another wwoman passenger.

Police say the attack could have been racially aggravated.

The incident occurred around 5pm as the bus travelled from Woodrow onto the Studley Road towards the bus station on Ipsley Street.




A woman in her 50s from Redditch was arrested on suspicion of assault and of possessing a controlled drug. She remains in custody.

PC Megan McGeough said: “We’re particularly concerned that the motivation for this assault was racial and if anyone has any information that could help us with our investigation please call 101, quoting incident reference 0380s of 29 April 2020.
