A Redditch bus has crashed into a stationary car and a garden wall, smashing the corner of the vehicle and injuring at least one person.

At around 1.45pm today (Wednesday)fire crews from Redditch and Droitwich Spa were called to the smash Bromsgrove Road and West Midlands Ambulance paramedics treated the driver at the scene for minor injuries.

Police also attended the scene, alongside two fire engines, who helped make the vehicles safe.

Eye-witness Jamie Banner, who lives on Bromsgrove Road, watched the crash unfold: “I heard a terrific crash while I was in my house and I felt the room shake.

“I looked outside to see what was going on and saw a Diamond bus had driven straight into my neighbour’s front garden wall.

“I went down to see what was going on, to check if anyone was hurt, but the five or so passengers all walked off the bus looking shaken, but not visibly hurt.

“I was really shocked to see how it had just ploughed into the wall – it’s not something you’d ever expect to happen.”

Police said the crash also involved a green Honda Civic, a white Fiat, and a blue Citroën and that while there are no road closures in place, there maybe delays while the vehicles are recovered.

A Diamond Bus spokesman said: “We have been made aware of an incident that occurred on Bromsgrove Road this afternoon involving one of our vehicles.

“The matter is currently being investigated by our operations team.

“Until this investigation has been completed and we can fully determine what has happened, we are unable to comment further.”
