Redditch business donates over £200 worth of food to foodbank

A REDDITCH business has donated over £200 worth of food to a community foodbank.

Broadstone Pensions Limited started a collection box in their office for Friends of Isaac’s Foodbank.

During the pandemic, Isaac Winfield set-up the foodbank with the support of his mother, Claire, with the simple premise of donate what you can, take what you need.

Lynne Boulton who works at Broadstone started the collection box.

Rosina Beard senior operations administrator and Caroline Beaman a cleaner at the company started the get the word out among staff members, and soon they had a huge amount of cash.

Rosina said: “Caroline was able to get so much donated for this due to speaking to other people she works for.

“I did her some posters that she took away with her and handed out and each week she was bringing in more stuff.

“We chose Friends of Isaac’s Foodbank because a lady in our office, Lynne, knows Isaac’s mum, Claire.

“As a team, Broadstone are always doing stuff for charity so this was an amazing idea.

“What a wonderful little boy Isaac is.”

Rosina took the cash to Asda and managed to get everything on the list.

She added: “I cannot believe we managed to get that much stuff, it is overwhelming.

“We had a generous £200 budget. It was actually very emotional to see so much stuff being donated and then seeing it all go in the car.

“Although it was wonderful, it is also very sad to think in this day and age so many people require food banks.”

Issac’s mum, Claire Champman said: “Isaac would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Broadstone for the incredible donation of food.

“The car was full to the roof and Isaac rode home with the remaining box on his lap.

“Thank you for your generosity and the lovely warm welcome you gave us.”
