A REDDITCH supply chain business has turned its hand to farming, after teaming up with Urban Farm-It.
Oakland International has launched an environmental food park, which combines food production, processing, and distribution with the aim of minimising environmental impact and reduce waste.
As part of this they are growing Lion’s Mane mushrooms at their facility in the town.
Oakland International’s strategic innovation manager, Luke Attwell said: “Our purpose extends far beyond logistics.
“By leveraging our extensive logistics network, this new partnership will help to reduce food miles, support local agriculture, and promote sustainable food systems.
“Both companies share a commitment to environmental responsibility and community impact and we also have educational initiatives planned to inspire home growing and healthy eating.
