A BUTCHER’S shop in Redditch which has been providing customers with fresh meat for decades is closing its doors.

Farm Fresh in Evesham Street will shut tomorrow (Saturday) after more than 30 years in the town.

Les Jeavans, who himself has been there for ten years, told The Standard: “I love Redditch and the people of Redditch and I’m really going to miss the banter with the customers.

“I’ve met so many great people over the years and it is the social side of it that I will miss most.”

He said the closure was down to a lack of trade caused by a change in people’s shopping habits.

“I’d like to thank all of the loyal customers who have supported us over the years and wish them well,” he added.

Les will be moving on to Freemans of Alcester, a butcher’s owned by the same parent company.
