A REDDITCH nursing home has been rated outstanding following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Stonebridge Nursing Home, run by Alexandra House Care Services Limited, provides personal and nursing care for up to 52 adults living with dementia or complex mental health needs.
Stonebridge also helps younger adults transition from secure mental health hospitals and supports people to build their confidence and integrate into the community.
CQC carried out this inspection due to some concerns it had received and as part of its routine monitoring of services. Inspectors found the concerns were unsubstantiated during the visit.
Greg Rielly, CQC deputy director of operations in the Midlands, said: “We found Stonebridge Nursing Home had excellent leaders who oversaw exceptional care and support for people.
“Their strong staff team was skilled, understanding and compassionate, and their work helped residents live independent, fulfilling lives.
“People told us staff treated them with kindness and respected their privacy and dignity.
“We saw staff truly listen to the people they cared for as well as many positive interactions which highlighted how well they knew them.
“They focused on delivering effective care shaped by best practice and guidance, achieving the best possible outcomes for people.”
Inspectors found managers were passionate about their role in ensuring people received safe and effective care and provided excellent leadership and support to staff.
Mr Rielly added: “We found staff helped people feel safe and gave them plenty of opportunities to take part in activities they enjoyed that supported their independence, health and wellbeing.
“The home was very welcoming to visitors and staff made sure they felt part of their loved ones’ care.
“The relatives we spoke to were very enthusiastic about the support people received and said leaders were committed to innovating and working in partnership to improve the service.”
Partners told inspectors staff were always looking for ways to improve how effectively they communicated with the different teams involved in people’s care to help achieve positive outcomes.
The report will be published on the CQC’s website in the coming days.
