A CARE team from Redditch successfully completed a challenging team ascent of Mount Snowdon, raising funds and awareness for the Stroke Association.
The group took on the climb together over the May bank holiday weekend, reaching the summit as a team after months of preparation, training walks and shared determination.
The team has so far raised £1,622 for the Stroke Association, which provides lifelong support for stroke survivors and their families across the UK, while also funding vital research and campaigning for improved care and recovery services.
The challenge was designed not only to raise funds, but also to reflect on the physical and emotional resilience required by people rebuilding their lives after stroke.
Home Instead supports people living with the long-term effects of stroke, helping them to remain independent at home wherever possible.
The team witnesses daily the profound impact a stroke can have – not only on individuals, but also on their families and wider support networks.
Every day, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke.
A spokesperson for the team said. “Taking on Snowdon together gave us a small insight into challenge, endurance and the importance of support when things become difficult.”
The group committed to the challenge at the start of the year, undertaking a rigorous training programme and pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones in preparation for the climb.
Throughout the challenge, their focus remained on teamwork and ensuring they reached the summit together rather than as individuals.
