THE Sandycroft Centre in Mount Pleasant recently hosted a joint celebration, holding an Eid party for children from the Redditch Urdu School, as well as celebrating the 85th birthday of the haven’s patron, Madge Tilsley MBE.

All the children and Madge were given presents and cake and they all also enjoyed a performance of the children’s work.

Deputy Mayor Jennifer Wheeler and her husband were invited as well as parents to enjoy the children’s Eid celebrations showcasing the children’s work.

Tanweer Dean, who helped organise the event, thanked the deputy major and her husband for attending before adding: “We wanted to show our appreciation to Madge Tilsley on her 85th year for all her support within the Asian community. The children, parents and guests all had a lovely day.”
