Redditch charity hopes you’ll make token gesture with your vote

A REDDITCH charity has been shortlisted to be Sainsburys local charity of the year.

Rob and Maggie Underwood lost two of their children – Charlotte Marie in December 2010 and Craig in December 2013 – to rare heart conditions, and since then they have set up the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation (CCSHF)

Rob and Maggie, who fund-raise and educate communities throughout Worcestershire as well as campaign to install community access defibrillators in Redditch and Worcestershire, are hoping that the people of Redditch will get behind their charity and help even more people in the community.

“It’s fantastic news to be shortlisted but we need the people of Redditch to support us now more than ever, to help us actually achieve this.

“It would make a massive difference to us to get this – and all people have to do to protect the future of this charity is drop a token into a slot.

“We are trying to save lives in our community – and cardiac arrest can strike without warning to any age gender or race.”

To support the charity people can pop into Sainsburys Redditch, near the Alvechurch Highway and place a token in the relevant box near the customer service desk.

If chosen, the charity will be supported by the supermarket giant for the whole year.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: “We want to make as big an impact as possible in our local communities.

“Every year we work together with our customers and colleagues to support a local cause at the heart of the local community.

“These are holistic partnerships that last for the whole year and include a range of support such as awareness-raising and fundraising in store, volunteering and donations.”
