REDDITCH school children have turned a few pounds of bacon in a frying pan into £200 in the pot for their Forest Schools project.

Children at Feckenham First School hosted a Bacon Butty Bash last Friday (July 15) where parents and pupils were invited for a breakfast treat where butties were cooked to order.

“The amount we raised is amazing and we are so grateful to our parents for their more than generous support,” said spokesperson for the school, Lynne Joynes.

The event was organised to raise funds towards replacing the Forest School waterproof clothing.

“We are really grateful to Mr Davis and Funzone, our after school club provider, for funding the bacon and rolls,” she added.

Forest Schools involve outdoor activities where children can learn in a relaxed and spontaneous manner and develop a positive relationship with the natural world.
