REDDITCH Choral Society will be entertaining residents and visitors in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre next Saturday, July 9, when they perform Vivaldi’s Gloria live with an orchestra.
The show will get under way at 1pm in the unit opposite Clinton Cards where the group will be joined by well-known local soprano Katie Leaver.
Director of music, Emily Tyrrell, said the performance would be a great way to make up for lost time during the pandemic.
“So often, classical music is regarded as stuffy and formal, but I want to dispel that myth in Redditch by bringing some of the exciting music we perform into an everyday setting.
“The choir has to flip between singing lively, difficult passages and stunning melodious lines.”
The performance – aimed at showcasing what Redditch Choral Society has to offer – will last between 30 and 45 minutes.
Tickets, at £5 for adults, are available at the door.
Admission for children is free.
