THE FREE Clothing Swap Shop which took place in Redditch on Saturday has been hailed a great success.
A total of 67 people participated in the event at the Willow Trees Community Centre and a staggering 575 items of clothing and accessories found new homes.
This has prevented the items ending up in landfill and extended their lifecycle.
This was the second Clothing Swap Shop after the inaugural one at the Windmill Centre in June.
The event is aimed at promoting sustainable fashion and reducing waste and offers residents a great opportunity to refresh their wardrobes without spending a penny.
Organiser Katie Kendrick said she was thrilled with the response and the collective impact all the participants made.
“The event went very well – it was amazing to see so many people come together to prove that sustainable fashion is fun and impactful.
“This is a powerful testament to what we can achieve when we choose conscious style over fast fashion.”
The next Clothing Swap Shop is scheduled for January.
“Watch this space for more details,” added Katie.
