A REDDITCH student is climbing the corporate ladder at Halfords after graduating from Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW) with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management.
Clair Allen, who lives and works in Redditch, made the decision to return to education and balance her studies around her job and a busy family life, and her determination has paid off achieving distinctions across the board in her modules.
Clair, who has been promoted to Strategic Delivery Manager at Halfords since graduating, said “My learning experience with HoW College has had an amazing impact on my career and me personally.
“Never did I believe that I would learn so much and progress so far, being promoted twice since I started within my job at Halfords.
“Whilst it was hard work juggling the workload alongside a busy job and family, the support from both Halfords and the tutors at the college helped me greatly.”
Studying on the fast-track Business Management course at the Osprey House Campus in Redditch, allowed Clair to complete her studies, part-time, in just two years.
Katrina Jamieson, Business Transformation Director for Halfords, added: “Clair’s HND qualification was a key differentiator for her vs other
candidates as she has studied the theory of project delivery and most importantly evaluation of performance.
“This coupled with her nine years in the Halfords business made her the ideal candidate to bring a blend of best practice and pragmatism to the role.”
The HND is a work-related qualification that provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of business and management that relates to their own organisation as well as the wider economy.
