STAFF at Morrisons supermarket in Redditch are gearing up for an evening of fundraising in aid of their chosen charity Together For Short Lives supporting Acorns Children’s Hospice.

A ska band, The Mighty Bong will be holding a concert at Studley Road Social Club on Saturday, November 12.

Tickets are £6 per person with all the money going to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Morrisons Redditch Community Champion, Beverley Allington has organised the event.

She said: “A band called the Viaducts will be going on stage at 8pm, followed by the Mighty Boing at 9pm .

“They are a midland band, who have supported our store charities over the last 3 years.

“They are full of energy and guarantee a fantastic show.

“Our store charity is Together for short lives, this supports our local Children’s Hospice which is Acorns in Worcester.

“We aim to raise £1000 on the night, with ticket sales and raffle, and then Morrisons will match fund the amount so £2000 all together.

“It always amazes me how generous people are, especially at this time of year, and we are so lucky to live in such a supportive community, who always get behind so many great causes.”
