Redditch group to host 24-hour video game session in hope of donations

A COMMUNITY group which supports youngsters on the autism spectrum will host a 24-hour video game session next week.

Members of Your Ideas Youth & Community Project, aged between five and 25, will be live streamed at the Gameathon event as they play on modern, retro and arcade machines.

In the process they hope to raise much needed funds for the non-profit organisation, based on Dilwyn Close.

Lead and community worker, Imogen Morris, said: “We provide key workers for young people out of education, run weekly gaming clubs for isolated young people, local art clubs, sports and fitness sessions and provide advocacy and support for our members and families.

“Because of Covid-19, this year we can only allow 15 young people in the building at one time.”

Each group will have an allocated time slot. When their time is up they will complete the rest of their hours from home.

The event will be streamed – which you can watch here http://twitch.tv/your_ideas – for 24 hours starting on Friday, October 30 at 10am.

To donate visit www.yourideas.org.uk where you can follow a link to the group’s Paypal account.
