Redditch Tories axe deputy leader Councillor David Bush for local elections

Correspondent 17th Jan, 2019   0

THE controlling Conservative Party in Redditch has de-selected the deputy leader of the Borough Council, Councillor David Bush (West) for the forthcoming local elections.

Coun Bush, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, Town Centre and Commercialism, is also vice chairman of the all powerful executive committee.

First elected in 2011, he has held office continually since then.

It is understood the decision was made following a number of ‘incidents’ and after a formal complaint was made against him.

Council Leader Coun Matt Dormer (Con, West) confirmed Coun Bush had been de-selected but said he was appealing against the decision.
