STAFF at Redditch Crematorium are celebrating a ‘perfect’ inspection rating.
The Bordesley facility has achieved the highest possible gold rating from the Institute for Cemetery & Crematorium Management (ICCM) for the fifth year in a row, that recognises the hard work and effort that the team put in to providing high standards of service in all aspects of bereavement services.
The Bereavement Team, who also provide burial provision on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council, gained top marks from the ICCM for burial provision and cremation across both areas.
Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for environmental services, Coun Brandon Clayton, said: “We are delighted and honoured to receive another gold standard award from the ICCM.
“Our team go above and beyond to provide excellent services for our residents during what is often a very difficult time in their lives.
“We are proud to receive this prestigious award and recognise the incredible work of our team providing a service our residents can depend upon.”
The inspection is assessed against the ICCM Charter for the Bereaved and sees the service judged in 23 different areas with 430 individual questions creating an overall rating for both Burial and Cremation.
Leader of the Council, Coun Matt Dormer, said: “This award is testament to the hard work of all of the staff in our bereavement services team and they should be very proud of themselves.
“As a team they have had to deal with a lot in the past three years, particularly during the pandemic, but they have continued to provide the best level of service possible to our residents.
“It is only right that they be commended for it.”
