“THEY had an absolutely fantastic time” – that was the verdict of Sue Latham after seeing students from her dance school join Basil Brush, Keith Chegwin and Anne Hegarty on stage at the Palace Theatre in its sell-out Easter panto production last Saturday.
The youngsters, aged from nine to 14, had just four weeks to learn their five routines after Sue, who’s trained West End dancers, received a call out of the blue.
“It really was a great day and the cast were wonderful and all the children got autographs from the stars, including Basil Brush,” said Sue.
Not only that but between the end of the matinee and curtain up for the evening performance Basil Brush found the time to be photographed with each dancer on their own.
“They were all extremely friendly and it made life so much easier,” said Sue, who’s dance school is based in Matchborough.
“They also said our children were so well behaved and their routines were some of the best they’d ever seen.”
The youngsters are now busy in rehearsals as the school gets ready to mark Sue’s 50th anniversary as a dance teacher with another performance at the Palace in May.
