A REDDITCH disability football team has received a donation as it fund-raises to cover its costs for next year.
Midlands Down’s Syndrome FC received £402 from Persimmon Homes South Midlands, through the housebuilder’s monthly Community Champions scheme.
Persimmon Homes South Midlands is currently building at Meadow View, Burrington Close, in the town and is keen to support the local community.
The football club, based at Trinity High School, focuses on attracting players who have Down’s Syndrome, giving them the opportunity to play and develop in the sport.
Spokesman Luke Bowles said: “We are raising money to cover the facility hire costs for next year and have raised money for new equipment and kit.
“The club is very popular with its players and they all thoroughly enjoy football.”
Amanda Rogers, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “We strongly believe in supporting the communities where we build, and are delighted to support a club that provides such amazing sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.”
