TWO neighbouring Redditch companies joined forces on Thursday, September 26 to organise a Macmillan Coffee Morning – and it turned into a truly international event.
Pinstructure & Abbey Clamps got together with KN Products to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Together they managed to raise £940.
Charlotte Neale, director at Pinstructure said: “We understand the importance of the work of Macmillan health professionals, and how they help people when they need it most.
“I think I can speak on behalf of all the staff here, and at KN Products, when I say we’ve all known someone who has been affected by cancer.
“So this is why we all wanted to do what we could to help. We are delighted that so many of our staff have got involved, and both companies will be matching the amount of money raised.
“We added in an extra element into the mix, which was to celebrate all the different nationalities who work here, by asking people if they wanted to bake cakes or biscuits from different countries of the world.
“So we had Scottish shortbread, chocolate brownies from America, and a good old fashioned English classic, Victoria Sandwich!”
In addition to staff bringing in cakes to sell, they had a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition and a raffle, with prizes donated by local shops, pubs and restaurants.
They also invited some local businesses in the Redditch area and employees’ family and friends to come along.
