A BUDDING young florist in Redditch has been recognised for her work in a national competition.

Chloe Knight, who works at The Nursery Shop in Crabbs Cross, had never entered a competition before, but scooped third place in the junior category of the British Florist Association UK Florist of the Year Competition.

On Saturday (October 21) 19-year-old Chloe was invited to the Hilton Metropole NEC in Birmingham where she showcased her entry – an ornate autumnal floral head dress, which took more than five hours in the making.

The young florist took home a cheque for £25 and the third place title in the category.

She said; “It’s really nice to have my work recognised. It’s the first competition I’ve ever entered, so I never dreamt I would win anything. To come in third was amazing, especially as there was so many other contestants.”

The experienced and professional florists at the Nursery Shop create bespoke wedding flowers, elegant and distinctive sympathy flowers and offer an national and international interflora relay service.
