REDDITCH History Society continues its new season of illustrated talks on historical topics with a talk from Tim Bridges, a well-known authority and lecturer on Victorian architecture.
Tim is the Conservation Advisor for this area for the nationally important Victorian Society.
His presentation on Monday, March 13, will explore a wide range of 19th and early 20th century buildings in Redditch, Bromsgrove and Birmingham, many of which have been under threat of demolition or alteration.
The diverse selection will include factories, public buildings, schools, swimming baths, pubs, houses, churches and cemeteries.
The Redditch History Society meets at the Oasis Christian Centre, 4 Plymouth Road, at 2pm, usually on the second Monday of the month, and the meeting lasts for a couple of hours including tea or coffee and biscuits which are available for a nominal fee.
Non-members are very welcome to attend and the entrance fee is £3, refundable against the membership fee if joining at the meeting.
Forthcoming talks in the 2023 season, which are given by both guest speakers and society members, include the history of Winterbourne House in Edgbaston, recent excavations in Beoley, aspects of life in 19th century Stratford-Upon-Avon, a wartime childhood and much more.
