Redditch History Society ready for AGM

THE ANNUAL General Meeting (AGM) of Redditch History Society will take place on Monday, April 13, as the group continues its programme for 2026.

The get-together will be at 2pm at the usual venue –  the Oasis Christian Centre on the corner of Plymouth Road, near Redditch Bus and Railway Stations.

After the short business meeting, there will be a screening of some films about historic events or places in the local area. These films, which provide an opportunity for nostalgia, have been sourced and introduced by the society’s secretary Tony Green.

After the film show, there will be the chance for those who go along to take up or renew the annual membership of the society.

Any visitor joining that day will not pay the entrance fee and will thenceforth pay a reduced member’s price.

The Redditch History Society meets from 2pm to 4pm on the second Monday afternoon of each month.

Non-members are always welcome for a £4 entrance fee and refreshments are available after the talk for just 50p per person.

Future talks and presentations include ‘Art goes to War, 1939 to 1945’, local archaeology on ‘The Body on the Bromyard Line, ‘Local Law and Order before 1850’ and many other fascinating topics.
