REDDITCH History Society opens its doors for the start of the 2023 season of illustrated talks on historical topics with well-known speaker Dr. Richard Churchley.
Dr. Churchley’s subject will be ‘Wayside Wonders and Country Curiosities’, and in his talk he will point out little known or unnoticed features of historical interest which people may miss as they travel around, such as unusual signposts, half-timbered churches, a mythical ragwell and much more.
The talk takes place on Monday 13th February at Oasis Christian Centre at 2pm.
The meeting lasts for a couple of hours including tea or coffee and biscuits which are available for a nominal fee.
Non-members are very welcome to attend and the entrance fee is £3, refundable against the membership fee if joining at the meeting.
Forthcoming talks in the new season, which are given by both guest speakers and society members, include Victorian and Edwardian Buidings of the area, the history of Winterbourne House in Edgbaston, and recent Excavations in Beoley.
