A NEW president has been voted in by Redditch Lions for the forthcoming – and 50th – year.

She was the first woman to become a Lion in the Redditch Club and the whole of the Lions zone area in 1996.

Carole has been President three times before, s well as serving as club secretary, social secretary and youth officer in previous years.

In recognition of her work in the community and for Redditch Lions she has now been awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship – the highest honour Lions International can give to members.

Carole said: “I was surprised and honoured to be given this award and to become president again in this very special year as the club celebrates 50 years of service to the people of Redditch “

She added Redditch Lions Club was always looking for new members.
