A REDDITCH man is hoping to raise £5,000 to set up a new charity for people suffering with addiction.

To help him on his quest in setting up ‘Hotel Hope’, Matthew Duggins has organised a ‘Ladies Night’ at the Queens Head pub, Queen Street, on Saturday, May 11.

Entertainment will include a disco as well as various fun games provided by drag artists, representatives from Anne Summers and a clairvoyant.

“The money raised from the event will go towards setting up Hotel Hope as a registered charity,” said Matthew.

“Once we’ve done that we will be well on way to finally making it become reality.

“Hotel Hope will help people recover, get their lives back on track and provide the right services to make sure they stay ‘clean’.

“Our aim is to give people, typically those suffering with drug or alcohol addiction, a place to go to get free help.”

Matthew wants to take the strain off the NHS by providing a ‘ward’ for people to be admitted should they need to detox.

“Hotel Hope will support itself through donations, grants and events similar to the Ladies Night this month,” said Matthew.

Tickets for the event cost £10 and can be purchased behind the bar at the Queens Head or by calling Matthew on 07963305658.
