Redditch Masonic Charity hands out vital funding to community good causes

THE REDDITCH Masonic Charity held its annual grants day last month.

Worshipful Bro Simon Sutor, chairman of the charity, extended a very warm welcome to all the successful applicants at the event at Redditch Masonic Hall.

He said he was both honoured and privileged to be part of the special occasion, which acknowledged the outstanding efforts of local charities, good causes and individuals, pursuing important goals.

The funds being distributed were made possible by the generous contributions of the lodges which meet at Easemore Road.

Members give selflessly throughout the year.

He added: “These donations represent more than just financial support – they are a reflection of Freemasons’ commitment to the wellbeing and success of our local community. By working together, we can help create positive ripple effects, empowering people to realise their potential and improve the lives of others.”

The grants, totalling £7,000, were presented by The Deputy Provincial Grand Masters of both Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

Among the charities receiving cheques were trainee doctor Bethany Parry, Isaac’s Food Bank, Touchstones Bereavement Charity, Batchley Support Group, Redditch Association for the Blind, Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper, Disabilty Support Project, Redditch Nightstop, Primrose Hospice and the Redditch Community Shed.

Each recipient gave thanks and outlined the work they did.

All recipients were invited to an afternoon tea, which was enjoyed by everyone.
