THE LATEST care home development in Redditch welcomed town Mayor, Coun Ann Isherwood, for a ‘topping out’ ceremony ahead of it officially opening next month.
Millcroft, located on Alfrick Close, will be Ideal Carehomes’ 32nd home.
It will provide 24-hour residential and dementia care for its residents, as well as bring 65 jobs to the area, once fully staffed.
Coun Isherwood was greeted at the ceremony by Ideal Carehomes’ commissioning director, Maria Taylor.
They were joined by estates manager, Ben Parker, and regional director for south Birmingham, Ilze Careless.
The Mayor was given a tour of the home, which will include 66 spacious bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms, a cinema room, a hair salon, a tea room and a Sky Bar.
She said: “As the newly elected Mayor of Redditch, community is at the heart of everything I do.
“It was my absolute privilege to visit Millcroft care home and meet the team.
“The Ideal Carehomes’ team at Millcroft clearly understands the meaning of the quality of life as we mature in our years and that is reflected in the design and consideration of the layout and finish of the building.”
Maria Taylor said: “I’d like to thank Coun Isherwood for joining us for our ‘topping out’ ceremony – it was an absolute pleasure to meet her, and give her a tour of our home.
“Millcroft is coming together nicely, and I’m sure our future residents will love what the home and our team has to offer.
“I’m especially looking forward to meeting the local community in the coming months, as we prepare to officially open Millcroft’s doors in October.”
