A FURIOUS Redditch mum has been demanding an apology from Diamond Buses after she says a driver swore at her daughter.
Emma Bradley said her daughter Lara had jumped on a crowded 58 bus on her way to school but because the platform was so full of people she couldn’t immediately get a ticket.
At the next stop a man with a pushchair tried to get on, but couldn’t and the driver told him the bus was too full.
“My daughter pointed out that there was lots of room towards the back of the bus if he would only ask the people to move further down the aisle,” said Emma, from Woodrow.
“At the this point the driver swore at her and Lara was so shocked she got off the bus and waited for the next one.”
The incident happened on December 17 and since then, despite plenty of emails to and from Diamond Buses, Emma said she got no nearer getting either an explanation or an apology.
“I immediately got in touch with the operations manager and he said he would look into it and examine the CCTV footage but it’s been nearly three weeks now and okay, we’ve had Christmas and New Year but all they’ve done is fobbed me off.”
Emma also got in touch with the county council to see if they could do anything.
“They are building a file on Diamond Buses and are appealing for anyone with a complaint about them to get in touch so they can add it to their dossier,” she said.
A spokesman for Diamond Buses said: “We are sorry for the distress caused in this complaint and assure you that we do not tolerate this or any kind of poor and disrespectful/disgraceful driver behaviour.”
