REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean has met with new chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to discuss investment into the Alexandra Hospital.
It is the first time Mrs Maclean has met with Glen Burley since his appointment.
The pair discussed recent multi-million-pound investments in the hospital, as well as Mrs Maclean continuing her campaign to secure the return of a maternity and children’s service to the Alex.
Recent investments in the hospital include the £18.8million operating theatre complex, a £3.9million expansion of endoscopy services, a brand-new Breast Imaging Unit, state-of-the-art robot-assisted surgery and the return of the Garden Suite.
Mrs Maclean said: “It was a positive and constructive meeting and I look forward to working with Glen on the bright future ahead for the Alex.
“That bright future includes the multi-million-pound investments we’re seeing in our hospital, but I also made clear during our meeting that I will be continuing to campaign for the return of a maternity and children’s service to the Alex.
“As my Long-Term Plan for the Delivery of Health and Social Care promises, I won’t stop fighting until that has been achieved.”
