A BUSINESS in Redditch has promised more jobs for people in the local area after its purchase of Berck Ltd last week.

Engineering solutions company Pre-Met, formerly known as Lewis Spring, believe it will offer real career opportunities for school leavers.

Managing director Steve Haynes said: “It was a proud day for us last week and an even better day for Redditch.

“We are bringing well-paid skilled jobs into the local economy.”

Pre-Met, based on Studley Road, is active in various safety critical industries including medical, automotive and aerospace.

Redditch MP Rachel Maclean said: “Clearly there is confidence in the town’s economy and its workforce.

“I want to congratulate Steve and his team on the successful purchase of Berck Ltd which will create more well paid and skilled jobs for my constituents.

“Redditch has a proud history of manufacturing and Pre-Met is ensuring this continues long into the future.”
