STAFF at Feckenham Village Shop welcomed MP for Redditch County, Rachel Maclean, through their doors last week, to show her what they have to offer the community.
Mrs Maclean visited the award-winning Feckenham Village Shop on Wednesday (August 30), and found the community enterprise to be a focal point for the local community, run by an enthusiastic army of volunteers.
Rachel said: “They aim to provide a warm, welcome and friendly, personal service, and that they certainly do.
“This is a fantastic local community resource, and all volunteer run and I can see why it is very popular with the whole community. It attracts locals as well as people visiting, including cyclists.
“The volunteers obviously love giving back to the community and without it, some locals may otherwise feel isolated – I can’t wait to tuck into the cheese I bought and I highly recommend a visit.”
The shop won the national Best Village Shop award in 2009 from nearly 900 entries and raises money and supports local village causes.
