MP FOR Redditch Rachel Maclean has met with the Government’s Rural Connectivity Champion to discuss ongoing mobile connectivity issues in parts of the constituency.
At the meeting, Mrs Maclean discussed the results of her recent survey which found 75 per cent of residents said they received a ‘very poor’ or ‘poor’ response from their provider.
Following the meeting with the Government’s Rural Connectivity Champion, she will be gathering further evidence of how mobile connectivity issues are hampering businesses, such as Hanbury Show not being able to take card payments, and residents alike in rural parts of the constituency.
The evidence collected will then help make the case for specific measures to be taken to improve connectivity in the areas that struggle most with poor signal.
Mrs Maclean said: “I once again saw for myself at the Hanbury Show the poor mobile connectivity issues which are hampering residents and businesses in parts of the constituency.
“I’m determined to secure improvements and working with the Government’s Rural Connectivity Champion we will collect the evidence needed to make sure ensure residents and businesses have access to good quality mobile coverage.”
