Redditch MP joins Armed Forces Minister and Royal British Legion for dedication of Jarvis Room

MEMBERS of the Redditch Royal British Legion came together alongside to Minister for the Armed Forces and the town MP to dedicate the Jarvis Room at Bridley Moor and Batchley Social Club.

The dedication, hosted by the Royal British Legion, recognised the service and sacrifice of local Armed Forces personnel and veterans and highlighted the vital role the Legion plays in supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families across Redditch.

Chris Bloore MP praised the work of the Royal British Legion and its volunteers, noting the importance of spaces that bring the Armed Forces community together, provide support and ensure remembrance remains at the heart of local life.

He said: “The Royal British Legion plays an invaluable role in supporting veterans, serving personnel and their families here in Redditch.

“It was an honour to take part in the dedication of the Jarvis Room and to spend time with members of the local Legion.

“Spaces like this matter. They provide a place for remembrance, for community and for ensuring that the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces are never forgotten.”

The event highlighted the strong relationship between Redditch and its Armed Forces community, with Minister Al Carnes speaking to veterans and reservists.

Mr Bloore added: “I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in the Royal British Legion locally for the work they do day in, day out.

“I will continue to support the Legion and work to ensure veterans and their families in Redditch and the Villages get the recognition and support they deserve.”
