KNITTERS are needed to join a brand new vintage clothing venture in Redditch.
Mum and daughter team, Kathy and Sandy Brophy, decided to launch Vintage Stitches so they could share their love of making things in a traditional way with others.
The business, based in Matchborough, offers customers the chance to choose clothing based on original 1940s knitting patterns, including clothing for men, women and children.
The punter can choose the pattern they like best from the website and the item of clothing is them made to order – knitted by one of Vintage Stitches local knitters.
Mum Kathy does most of the knitting herself, but with the growth of the business and the popularity of handmade vintage clothing on the rise, more skilled knitters are needed to join their team.
“It takes around six weeks or so to complete an item, so we really need a few more knitters from Redditch on our team to help us continue to bring these lovely vintage designs to people,” she said.
39-year old Sandy added: “I dragged my mum out of retirement to set up this buisness together and we’re so passionate about what we do. Vintage style and re-renacting groups are getting so popular – and nothing beats a beautiful handmade outfit.”
Any prospective knitters interested in working on a self-employed basis can get in touch with Sandy on 07841 967830 via email [email protected]
