NEW figures have shown there has been an increase in apprenticeships in Redditch since 2010.
Around 10,960 new apprenticeships have been created in the borough.
The government said apprenticeships were a cornerstone of its plans to provide people with a route into careers and contribute to a high-skill, high-productivity economy.
Welcoming the news, Redditch MP Rachel Maclean said: “I’m the proud mum of a Heart of Worcestershire College auto mechanics apprentice.
“I’ve seen for myself just how much my youngest son has grown as a person through the opportunities his apprenticeship has provided him.
“I’ve long championed apprenticeships as they are a fantastic way for students to enter the world of work, helping them to build new skills and gain vital industry knowledge – all while being paid.”
